Data up until 1985 from Taylor (1987:12). According to Taylor (1987), the Monaco 1967
conference was a successor to an IAEA conference held first in 1962, while the Uppsala conference was not
considered a radiocarbon conference as such. The organisers of the 1972 Wellington conference, however, considered the
Uppsala event as a general radiocarbon conference and therefore termed their conference the 8th.
